Heartbroken and Shutting Down

I just learned today that because of the new ruling for single women by MOWA and where I fall on my agency's approval list, my daughter won't be home until sometime in 2011.  I am heartbroken.  I've been crying in my mother's arms like a baby.  It's a good thing I am in South Carolina dealing with a family illness (I guess).

I wanted you all to know, I am shutting my blog down.  I can't continue this for the next two years.  I know everything happens for a reason although I don't know what the reason for this is yet.  I'll miss you all!

See you in two years!

Selam,

Tami

  2. Oh Tami,
My heart breaks for you. We are dealing with 5 year delays in China and the adoption community has been so supportive. Keep your dream alive. God will make it happen in His time. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

  4. Tami, I feel like something will change very soon with this limit. I was expecting to get my baby around Spring/Summer 09. I was told by Gladney that it will be between late 2009 and 2010, but I will not give up. This is truly a sad day for us. Girl, I cried like a baby at work today. My coworkers thought that somebody died! My heart is broken also. Stay strong.

  8. I cried when I heard the news too! I'm so sorry....like everyone else, I just don't know what to say. It is devastating for for all singles but especially to those who were so close and had already invested so much.

Hang in there.....maybe things will turn around when MOWA realizes what a mistake it is to limit singles.

    Take care.

  10. I am so sorry! Is the MOWA banning singles adoption, or just making it a longer process?

  13. Thank you all. Now that I have stopped crying (smile) like Catrina said..."God knows best". Obviously I need this time for something else. I will use this time to get things more together and who knows what will manifest itself in my life. It won't always be easy, but I do know God has a plan for me. I don't always like what happens but it is always right and just what I need. Thank you all for you support.

  15. Tami, what have you heard? Back in July I heard confirmation from my agency that singles had lower priority, but would still be allowed. Is this new restriction coming from MOWA, or is this a U.S. restriction??? In any event, I'm so sorry to hear about your delay. Don't disappear on me!!

  21. My agency said it was a rumor and that MOWA were reviewing what to do. Are you sure this has been finalized? If so how? Please share I just finished my dossier and was about to send it in.

  22. Niani-

No one knows anything for sure. All I know is what my agency told me. I think having your dossier in country is a good thing. Who knows maybe there is a chance that those with dossiers will get grandfathered so i would say send it in. We are still praying for a miracle.

    Waiting Arms-

I don't know what happened to your post. I clicked it but it did not show. Technology!!!!! Like you, I am praying for that miracle...who knows? :-)

  23. Im writting from Europe and Im a single woman also wanting to adopt from Ethiopia. My dossier is already there and the official messagge from MOWA according to my agency is that if a single womans dossier reaches Ethiopia within the 15th of December this year, will make it to adopt normally. Make a last effort and please do check it up with your agency. Maybe you still can make it in time?
    All the very best,
    Dina from Denmark
