In the meantime, my living room looks like a tornado hit it! I refuse to put the items back in Baby I's room or the designated playroom since they are both clear now. The items are being Freecycled, Goodwilled, Amazoned and Ebayed in the next few weeks. The older I get the more I realize how much I can't stand stuff! I want to live a simple life like the Scandinavians do. Clean lines and a little stuff....%$#! how did I get so much crap???? I swear I have been getting rid of stuff for at least a year and I still have stuff to get rid of. No more tschokes for me. They make me itch and make my head hurt!
i knew you were going to write a post on this. Dang it!! Rub it in that i only made $30!!!! :-< lol
ReplyDeleteGetting rid of unneeded possessions is one of the easiest things you can do to ensure the long-term cleanliness of your home. Good for you.
ReplyDeleteMy hat is off to yu and Laura for doing a yard sale. The thought of doing one myself scares the heck out of me. $200 bucks is great for the bank account.
ReplyDeleteTo stay de-cluttered, maybe let your friends and family know that you are trying to downsize and so would prefer birthday/Christmas gifts in the form of gift certificates and the like.
Now, keep the nursery and playroom clean of anything but baby stuff!!
We had a yard sale this past Saturday... made a little bit short of $200. Anything helps with the baby fund, right (although I know I should have sold that conaire foot spa for $10 instead of $5. It had only been used once!).
ReplyDeleteNow, you sound like me. I did all of the work getting ready for the garage sale. I made about $300 but the friend I had the sale with bought $100 worth of stuff. Her mother just took what she wanted and said she was giving it to charity. Uhhh...I am the charity. She did not care. A couple weeks ago she actually sent me a charity receipt.
ReplyDeletei hear ya! I am doing the same thing. its a never ending process but i figure i should do this as much as possible while i am waiting!
ReplyDeleteNow if you'd posted photos of what you're getting rid of, i might have been able to make some on-line offers...
ReplyDelete$200 is fab!
ReplyDeletedoesnt it feel great to just get rid of it all!
ReplyDelete2 years ago i raised over $1000.00 for our adoption with our giant tag sale. we got rid of anything and everything. im ready to do it again and start saving for the next one!!!! :)
