There is a thin line between love and hate. There is also a thin line between reasonable and ridiculous. You have heard me talk about the Ethiopian adoption boards before, so here I go again. Maybe this should be a weekly update, board craziness. Sundown on September 29th began the Jewish New Year and since there are many Jewish families adopting someone had the audacity to say Shana Tova. Wadaya they do that for? Boom! Here we go again. It had religious content and that should not be posted on the boards because it was not about Ethiopia or adoption. Huh?
Shana Tova as far as I can tell means (in Hebrew): A Good Year, A Good and Sweet Year, or May You Be Written and Sealed for a Good Year. Well, I don't know about you, but with this recession I can use all of the blessings I can get in any language it may come to me. Please send me some additional blessings in any language you know: Greek, Italian, Geek, Pig Latin...heck, I'll take them all!
So, people lighten up! And I know it is a little late, but Shana Tova everyone!
P.S. Do you think I'll be having this discussion about the boards around Christmas time if someone says Merry Christmas? Things that make you go hmmm.

I am no longer on the big Ethiopian boards - I cannot take the number of crazy people. I could take them in general but the idea that they are adopting children and passing on the craziness - now that really gets me.

This caused a stink? Seriously? Yeah, Xmas will be interesting. Also, are people allowed to say they are praying for each other, etc?
It's such a shame that people finding such idiotic things to fight about in this day and age.

And that's exactly why I stopped participating in the EthiopiaAdopt group. People are ridiculous. I don't know why people need to be so sensitive about other people's beliefs.

i read some, i delete some- it depends on my mood and how much time i have on my hands. i have to agree that it speoples ignorance and the fact that they are adopting children that scares me so much.

My blog only has about 4 post, but it has religious reference and other "grey" topics regarding my life. I have other things gong too.

Interesting how that rule doesn't seem to apply to the "praise god" crowd. Guess there's only one religion in the States.

I have been reading yours for a little while now....Yep I have 2 boys in my 20s, but I know many people much younger than me with more..so 2 isn't so bad..I have had as many as 5 ages 2 and under at one time as a foster parent...so 2 is a walk in the park..lol! I am currently researching # 3 now.....I know what you mean about those boards....I haven't been on the Ethiopia adopt board in a while (THEY ARE CRAZY SOMETIMES) That'a onw o the reasons I started the AA adopting Ethiopian children board..much less madness..lol
