Blog Conundrum

I've been blogging now for over a year (where does the time go?).  I've had my ups and downs during the process, but I honestly did not think I would not have Baby I home by this summer or at least not be on the waitlist...neither has happened as you know.  Not because in my heart I don't want to be, but because personal reasons have made my process move so slow.  I have seen many of my blog buddies become parents, I am so happy for them and love reading the blogs, but as for my blog...I don't have much inspiration anymore.  I don't know what to write about.  We all know people really want to hear about life with the little ones and I don't anticipate Baby I coming home until after March 09 at the earliest.

So, my dilemma is... I don't know what I am going to say for the next however many months.  Heck, I don't even know if anyone is reading this anymore.  I'm thinking about just making the blog private and then creating a new blog at referral.  What do you think?  I'm at a loss.

Hang in there, I'm still reading about your journey so that I can prepare for mine:).

blog about your personal life. it will be very interesting for I to read what you did, where you went, about your job, dating, house, trips, etc. you are more than just a mom to be so write about the day to day until then. that's my suggestion.

Tami - I always click to see if you've written anything new lately. I am also a waiting single mom. I think u should keep blogging. I like reading your insights about what's going on in the world. Myt process is taking SOOOO long too. My wait has been 8 months (just on the list) not including the year and a half doing paper work, waiting for numerous failed fingerprints. Hang in and dont stop blogging. I dont comment often but I check and read a lot. Ali from NY

Tami,

I've been following your blog probably since you started it and I encourage you to keep going. Your writing style is creative, witty, and entertaining. Your blog is on my "top list" every week to check into. Your daughter will be home with you soon. Remember, words have power, so speak her into existence!

Don't stop writing and keep it coming!

Hi Tami,

I don't know if I've commented before but I've been following your blog and I agree that you have a unique voice and I would encourage you to keep writing for yourself, your child when they are home and others. We waited years and years for our first child and now our adoption process is going slowly also for various reasons. You don't have to post often but even your post on Zahara was important to read.

Of course, I support you if you want to take something private but I do think you would be missed. There are so many blogs with photos of children, I think the adoption world really needs this too. I know for me it helps to read about longer wait times when it seems like everyone on the big Yahoo board has a baby within a year!

Hang in there! One day you'll have your little one home.

Tami-

Please don't give up or go private...
I read your blog!
I am sooo happy to find blogs written by "single" women; who are adopting.
I thought I was out here by myself then I found your blog and a few others; which keep me inspired.
Keep your chin up and stay in prayer.
Everything will work out!!! :)

I read every word. I miss you so much when you are not posting. That being said this is a long road and I've felt that way at times too. I know that my blog has become much less about the process and more about my own emotional process. Any way it goes writing it on the blog is better than some other less healthy alternatives. Please don't stop writing. Believe me when I lost my inspiration it was your post that kept me going.

Please keep blogging, Tami!!

When I first starting the process I was thrilled to find a handful of other other single, black women in the same boat as me. But I read your blog not just to hear adoption news but to hear what you have to say about life - the interesting or controversial stuff and the mundane, everyday life stuff.

Every adoption journey wanders all over the place. There are no straight lines and there are parts of the trip that are blah and boring. But your voice is more than just about adoption. I have come to consider you as a personal friend and I want to hear how YOU are doing along every step of the road.

Tami, Please do not go offline. You were the FIRST single PAP's blog that I read. I needed to see someone that looks like me and I love you and Laura and Haze. Despite the molasses speed lol. Life happens. And it is not a destination, it is a journey. Please hang in there. You had a little burst a few months ago and I know you will have another one really soon. As you can see the fans love you!

Hang in there.

I am debating adopting. Your blog gave me hope because I think I have this fear of the unknown in the entire process the good and the bad.Your blog has given be lots of encouragement. I learned from you that waiting is part of the process. Waiting is also making you stronger spiritually so you can be there for your child when she comes. She's on the way, but just not on your timing--keep the faith for all those adoptive moms who will come after you.

I like your view on things and always read your blog. Its hard to find straight forward, speak your mind people. Talk about financial struggles, or life struggles or what ever. The adoption will happen. We'll hang in there with you. It took us six years (but Im glad I didnt have a blog for all that) so I understand how hard it is to see all the children everywhere. It will make your connection all that more sweet...

Naw sisterfriendgirl....(adding my money's worth)...don't stop blogging! I read and reread your blogs since you've started. I don't always make comments because I don't want you think "hey, this chick is stalking me"; but yeah, I love reading your blogs. Your blogging-voice reminds me of my baby-sister...!

I'm waiting for my little cocoprincess too (been a little over 15 months for us too and yes, we are growing a little tired with the wait but we know it will work out in the timing and season of the LORD.

Hang in there a little while longer---Baby I will be here when she is suppose to!
